The Unexplainable Church: Reigniting The Mission Of The Early Believers by Erica Wiggenhorn is a 10-week (50 lesson) Bible study of Acts 13-28. While designed to follow An Unexplainable Life, Erica's 10-week Bible study of Acts 1-12, this book would also work well as a stand-alone study.

In The Unexplainable Church, Erica walks us through a verse-by-verse study of the last 16 chapters of Acts which focus on Paul's various missionary journeys and the subsequent establishment of the early church. Here, we will learn about God's grace, following His course, and trusting in His protection.

While emphasizing the early church and community of believers, this study reveals not only how Paul's life should influence our interactions with the church today, but also how our standing with the church reflects our relationship with God in our hearts. Combining her own personal experiences with in-depth questions that will make you contemplate God's transformational power in the very core of your being, Erica leads invites us to join Paul on his quest to seek God, expand God's kingdom, and sacrifice everything in order to gain the only thing which truly matters.

I love the color coded type that Moody has used in these recent Bible studies, making it easy to separate out the author's insights from the Scripture and the reflection questions. There is very little Scripture in the actual study book, relying on the reader to have your own Bible present at all times. While this can make traveling with the book a bit tedious, I find that it encourages you to set aside a time to stop and truly focus on the day's lesson and Bible reading, rather than trying to rush through it as one more thing on your to-do list.

Erica's insights and examples help bring the pages to life, making the story easier to relate to in today's culture. I would recommend this book for individual or group study to any women who want to learn from Paul's missions, feel closer to his motives and relationships with the early believers, and discover ways to bring the transformational power of unexplainable grace into their own lives. 5/5 stars.
