The Whole Bible Story is a chronological record of the main events which take place, simplified, and written in today's language with the layman in mind. While there are some facts which could be debated among scholars, the overall approach is very friendly for those who either have little or no experience with the Bible, or for those who have read the Bible but would like a refresher course on the basics of what really happens within its many pages.
The basic format is like a cross between a textbook and a reading book, with chapters, sections, and chapter summaries. This new illustrated edition includes over 85 photographs, maps, and charts (averaging one every 4 pages) designed to help you see specific details about the times, people, and places in question.
I think this would be a perfect gift for adult Christians (new and old alike) who struggle with sorted through the complexities of the Bible in every day reading, and would like a simpler way (and chronological format) to study the important details for a solid foundation in their beliefs. Think of it as a Bible story book - written for adults. 4/5 stars.
