Here, Clayton has selected ten common and powerful lies that we allow ourselves to believe everyday - God is mad at me, I am unloved and alone, things will never get better, good people don't suffer, and more - and breaks each one down to show us how the lie works by infiltrating, insinuating, intimidating, and re-creating your reality.
Once we see how the lie works, through powerful real-life examples, Clayton shows us the Truth that each lie hides, and reveals how to uncover and reinforce that Truth in order to break the cycle of lies that we're stuck in.
I really appreciate Clayton's candid personal approach - he has no problem admitting his own weaknesses as encouraging for our journey. I also found the "Next Steps" reflection/journaling section at the end of each chapter to be helpful.
I'd recommend this book to any Christ follower who is having a hard time letting go of the lies that stand between them and their personal relationship with God. 5/5 stars.
