Homeschooling - 19.5 Weeks In

Trying to get back on schedule. Not quite as easy as I'd hoped it would be. At any rate, I am at least posting this update on time for a change. Yay me!... ZoKo had a slow week last week. Lots of hours, but not so much textbook time. Mostly reading, tv, and other activities. Oh well, it still counts. Meanwhile, I'm not sure how her overall list of curriculum for this year is gonna pan out. Probably not as thorough as I would like to have it, but still better than it could be. So goes life. I'm planning on trying to keep her running through winter break, spring break, and summer if at all possible this year...
She had a semi-meltdown today (yes, I know, this is supposed to be last week's info only) about the amount of work time versus play time. Of course, what she really means is the amount of textbook time versus reading, art, and p.e. time. Go figure. Anyway, we worked out the math together and she finally realized that if she puts the energy from whining into her work instead, she'll have about 4 hours of "work" in (4 days a week), and all the rest of her "school" time is doing the fun stuff she loves. Maybe that'll help out since she's already investing that much time in complaining lately instead... While I'm already breaking the rules and discussing this week instead of "last" week, I've got one more spoiler alert: She finished Dark Fire, book 5 of the Last Dragon Chronicles by Chris D'Lacey yesterday, and started book 6, Fire World today. :) Unfortunately, it's also the last book in the series, so don't tell her that (shhhh!)...
Back to last week, now that I'm done blabbing about this week... Grade 2, progress report 15...
